Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Sewn in the Pikake (Jasmine Flower) lei style. 3 strands measuring 41 inches including the clasp. Momi Ke'oke'o Waha'ula'ula White Momi "dove" shells with red spots on the aperture or lip. Momi Ke'oke'o White Momi "dove" shells. Traditional Bumpy or Granulated Cowry 1 1/4 inch also known as Poleholeho 'apu'upu'u with 2 Puka shells, naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. Other assessed characteristics: Excellent structure and good gradation of shell size (smaller towards the clasp and larger toward the center. Excellent shell color and luster. The granulated cowry also shows excellent luster. Note: Strand #1 missing 2 Momi shells at 1 inch and 19 inches from the Puka shell. Strand #2 missing 1 Momi shell 9 inches from the Puka shell. Strand #3 missing 1 Momi shell 4 inches from the Puka shell.
