Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Momi Ke'oke'o (white "dove" shells), Momi Onikiniki Maka'i "dove" shells with spiraling brown lineated spots, Momi Kahakaha 'ula'ula Honey colored Marni "dove" shells with medium reddish brown stripes. Sewn in traditional Pikake style (Jasmine flower) lei style. 3 graduated strands measuring 37", 38", 39 1/2" inches including the clasp. Clasp is traditional White Bumpy or Granulated Cowry (PoIeholeho 'apu'upu'u) surrounded by 2 traditional Puka shells- naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. Other assessed characteristics: Good structure with good shell selection in size, color, and synchronized alignment lending to appropriate fluidity, flexibility and flow. Fine luster overall. Note: Has been repaired.
