Niihau Shell Lei. Momi Ke'oke'o Waha 'Ula'ula or Red Lipped "Dove Shells". 10 strands measuring 73 inches including the clasp. The Cowry clasp is a traditional Poleholeho 'apu'upu'u or bumpy or Granulated cowry, white due to sun bleaching measuring 1 and ½ inches enhanced with 2 rare variegated sundial shells. A lei of this length, between 60 to 78 inches with ten or more strands were the traditional wedding lei of Ni'ihau. Assessed characteristics: Good selection of shell size, color, and luster. Appropriate fluidity and flow of the strands. Overall good luster
