Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Sewn in the Pikake (Jasmine flower) lei style. Graduated 3 strands (Lengths 32", 33", 34" including the clasp). Momi Kua'ula, off white "dove" shells ribbed or grooved Momi shells sometimes with light brown streaks or splotches. The clasp is an unbleached yellow/pink hued Granulated pink cowry (Leho '6 kala) measuring 1 inch enhanced with 2 Puka shells- naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. This cowry has a glistening shine to it, which is not common in adult cowry making it rare. Typically, only juvenile cowries exhibit this shine. Assessed characteristics: Excellent selection of shell size, color, and placement. Excellent alignment in structure with appropriate fluidity and flow. Overall excellent luster. The graduated lengths lay proportionally.
