Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Sewn in the Pikake (Jasmine Flower) lei style. 5 strands measuring 53 inches including the clasp. Momi Kua'ula, ribbed or grooved off-white "dove" shells. Clasp is well-worn, ocean-tossed. Bumpy Cowry or Granulated cowry 1 and ¼ inch (Poleholeho 'apu'upu'u) surrounded with 2 traditional Puka shells - naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. Other assessed characteristics: Good selection of shell size, color, and distribution. Good luster and good alignment of shells with proper flexibility and fluidity in structure. Note: Has been repaired. Missing 1 shell 17 ½" from the Puka shell.
