Niihau Shell Lei. Authenticated. Sewn in the Pikake (Jasmine Flower) lei style. 5 strands measuring 58 inches including the clasp. Momi Lenalena Waha'ele 'ele or yellow Momi "dove" shells with black tips at the aperture or lip. Clasp is a well-worn ocean tossed Poleholeho Onikiniki 1 and ¼ inch or snakehead cowry accompanied with 2 traditional Puka shells­ naturally worn cone shell bottoms with convenient holes on each side of the cowry. Other assessed characteristics: Average luster with good alignment of shells with proper fluidity and flexibility in structure. Good selection of shell size, color, and distribution. Note: Has been repaired. Missing 4 shells on one strand 11 1/2", 17 1/2", 18 1/2" and 24" from the Puka shell.
